HealthTECH Workforce Forum: September 17,2010

If you have a problem seeing this email, please click here.

The San Diego Workforce Partnership and National University invite you to attend a unique HealthTECH Workforce Forum, an opportunity for businesses, educators, and government to network, collaborate and share health IT workforce planning innovative practices.

This year has set the stage for two monumental federally funded healthcare laws: The HITECH Act (aka electronic health records adoption) and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka healthcare reform). Together, they have created opportunities for billions of dollars in workforce development, education and public agency grants impacting the healthcare community including:

  • Healthcare providers
  • Members of the Workforce Investment System
  • Universities, colleges and training organizations
  • Public health and community based agencies
  • Medical device and life sciences manufacturers
  • IT vendors and consulting firms
  • City, county, state and federal public officials
  • Professional associations, medical societies, foundations and industry advocate

Until now, there has not been an event to bring together ALL the community stakeholders to network, collaborate and share our collective workforce development knowledge. The San Diego HealthTECH Workforce Forum on September 17th will be that event.

Agenda: Two Events in One You Won't Want to Miss:

  • From 8:00 am to 1:30 pm: We will assemble over 20 senior-level content experts representing many segments of the public and private healthcare community. These experts will provide strategic and tactical insights on how recent federal healthcare legislation will impact the San Diego region's workforce, and how you can apply this knowledge to improve your organization's mission.
  • From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Students, incumbent workers and career changers will have access to workshops on how Electronic Health Record adoption, and healthcare reform, will create new employment opportunities and career ladders. Registrants for these sessions will also have opportunities to meet with employers and educators in the exhibit area. A limited number of individual career coaching sessions will also be available.

REGISTER TODAY: Receive Early Bird rates if you register by August 2, 2010. Save up to 20% if you register with other colleagues at the same time.

EXHIBITING AND SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: The Forum provides a range of opportunities to make it easy and affordable to recruit skilled healthcare workers and potential student enrollees, and to showcase your services to the healthcare community.
